Filter service

Pool filter cleaning service in the High Desert

Hesperia wind and desert dust pack pool filters solid faster than almost anywhere else. We clean cartridge, DE, and sand filters properly — so flow comes back, water clears up, and your pump stops fighting for its life.

What a clogged High Desert filter actually looks like

These are cartridges we pulled from local pools. The dust doesn't rinse off on its own — it has to be worked out of every pleat.

Every filter type, done right

Cartridge filters

Cartridges come out, get inspected, and every pleat is rinsed clean — not a quick spray down the outside. We flag torn or collapsed cartridges instead of selling you new ones you don't need.

DE filters

Full tear-down: grids out, manifold checked, tank rinsed, then recharged with the right amount of DE. Algae-stained grids get scrubbed, not put back dirty.

Sand filters

Backwash and rinse, multiport valve check, and a pressure reading before and after so you can see the flow come back.

What's included

  • Pressure reading before and after service
  • Filter housing opened, o-rings inspected and lubed
  • Every cartridge or grid cleaned individually
  • Tank and manifold rinsed out
  • DE recharge (DE systems)
  • Pump and plumbing leak check while it's open
  • Honest replacement recommendation only when it's actually needed

Signs your filter needs cleaning

  • Water looks cloudy or dull even with good chlorine levels
  • Filter pressure is 8–10 psi above its clean starting point
  • Weak flow from the return jets, or the skimmer barely pulls
  • Pump runs hot, cycles oddly, or is noisier than usual
  • You just came through a wind or dust storm
  • Nobody has opened the filter in the last 6 months

How often out here?

In most parts of the country a filter cleaning every 6 months is fine. In Hesperia, Apple Valley, Oak Hills, Phelan, and Victorville we typically recommend every 3–4 months, plus a clean after any major dust or wind storm. Pools with heavy tree or tumbleweed exposure, or one that's recovering from algae, often need it sooner. Filter cleaning is included in our regular maintenance plans on schedule — or we can do it as a one-time visit.
